Understanding the Team Approach–Questions and Answers about Tricia’s Pet Care Team
Q: Why is Tricia’s Pet Care a Team of pet care providers? A: Tricia’s Pet Care has been taking care of pets since the year 2000. As with any work that we do, there are days we are sick, have a car problem, unexpected illness or death of a family member, inclement weather–all the many things that arise in life that we all deal with. There’s nothing worse than being far away from home and getting “the call” that your pet care provider at home has an emergency and will not be taking care of your pet. You’ve got to rush home or frantically find a replacement to take care of your pets. That’s no way to spend your vacation! Tricia’ Pet Care Team cross trains at least two team members for your pet the entire time your pet is on our schedule. If your pet is on our schedule we have a minimum of two team members trained and available just for your pet.
Q: What are the advantages of the Team approach? A: Seamless, uninterrupted care for your pet without exception! Regardless of any life circumstance that arises. Because you want the best of everything in life for your pet.
Q: Does this Team approach service cost more? A: No. This added service is included in the base price.
Q: How is the Team approach different from other pet care providers/dog walkers? A: Most pet care providers/dog walkers operate solo. If something happens to them–your pet will not receive its care–which leads to a stressed pet, your pet may break training, exhibit stress behaviours, it could ever be life-threatening if meds or injections are missed. Extra pairs of eyes, hands and several people to love and tend to your precious pet and outdoor critters. Does it get any better than that?
Q: Will I meet the Team members that will be taking care of my pets? A: Absolutely! We set up a Team meeting before the pet care or overnight care begins so that you and your pets will meet Team members and know who will be taking care of your pet. Pets enjoy meeting new friends and caregivers in the presence of their family members. It’s calming and nuturing to them!
Q: When I pay for the pet care services is there a way to pay a tip or gratuity to my particular pet care providers? A: Yes! When you pay make a note that the extra amount you’ve included is for a specific pet care professional.

Can I bring my pets to your “home”?
We normally provide pet care services in your home where your pets feel the most safe, secure and comfortable. Kenneling may cause undue stress. When we visit your pet in its own home we serve you in two ways:

We make sure your home is secure and safe for your pets and for you when you arrive back home!
How Long Are the pet care visits? Dog Walks?
We do not charge by time. We are with your pet as along as is needed. Different pets have different needs. We focus on the customized pet care plan we have created with you designed just for you and your pets.
Who has access to my home?
TPC team of professional, certified, bonded and insured team members will have access to your home. We do not share pet care assignments nor client information with others. Security is serious and our priority. Your key is coded and locked in a secure key file. No information associated to your address, your name or your pet is kept with your key.
How about bonding and insurance?
All TPC team members are professional, certified, licensed, bonded and insured. Your pets and home are two of the most important things in your life. Sadly, many times new clients find TPC AFTER they have trusted their pets and home to friends, neighbors, relatives or the kid down the street with unhappy results. NEVER trust your pets and home to anyone who is not a professional.
What if we are delayed in our return home?
We are with your pet until you return. Let us know as soon as you know–and it’s handled!
Last minute/short notice service?
Once you are a client of TPC you are always a client with priority status. We are prepared to handle short notice assignments. We have a reputation for being flexible!
When and how do I pay?
Payment is due upon scheduling service. TPC accepts: Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express
How much does pet sitting cost?
Each pet and its care is unique. Tricia’s Pet Care is proud to report that we never quote a rate for our services without having met you and your pets and only after we know every detail about your pet and its care will a rate be provided. Typically the way rates are determined is based on the following information:
Where the client lives.
How many pets are in the home? Outside the home? Are there outside critters (cows, chickens, ducks bird feeders, etc.)? Are there other things such as plant watering, bird baths to fill poop scooping to be done? Do your pets need meds administered? Injections? Fluids? Do your pets eat food that requires extra time cooking and/or preparing?
How long will you be away? Sometimes package rates are available for extended trips or when several pet care visits to your home per day are required.
Time. Sometimes the length of time a pet care professional spends with your pet is how your rate is determined. Tricia’s Pet Care Motto: “We stay till the job is done!”
How many visits are scheduled per day?
This is determined by you when we create with you, at our first meeting, your optimum pet care plan.
Do you provide service on Holidays?
Yes! We provide pet care 365 days a year, 7 days a week, 24 hours per day. Holidays and weekends are busy. Cancelations may include a cancelation fee. There is a service fee on holidays. Please book as far in advance as possible.
